About Us...

The CT Association of Pawnbrokers Inc. was formed in the early part of 1995 in order to represent approximately 50 different pawn brokerage companies conducting business within CT.

Pawn brokerage companies service the needs of roughly 20% of the population with no checking accounts or unacceptable credit histories. We deal with people from all "walks of life" whose credit needs are simply too small for regular banks.

Through the years our number of members have varied slightly while growing as a organization. Our members adhere to a strict Code of Ethics and work closely with their communities, often as members of their local Chambers of Commerce and Better Business Bureaus.
